“[Earle] has been released pending future investigation,” said Lt. Eduardo Hernandez of the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau.  According to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department’s website, he was released at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday without bail.  His next appearance is scheduled at the Newhall Municipal Court on September 30.

A Saugus woman was found dead in her bed this morning and her live-in boyfriend was escorted from the scene for questioning.

Sheriff’s homicide detectives are at 20765 Plum Canyon Road investigating the suspicious death of a 31-year-old woman identified as Karla Brada.

Neighbors said they heard loud noises coming from the condominium several times last night and that deputies were in the area more than once.

“The Santa Clarita station received a call that there was a female at this location not breathing, LA County Fire was dispatched and deputies responded,” said Lt. Hernandez.

Paramedics pronounced Brada dead at the scene.

“We are detaining one individual as a witness right now to try and identify what he knows and how he may or may not be involved in this incident,” Hernandez explained.

“We won’t know cause of death for a couple of days until the Coroner conducts their investigation and provides the sheriff’s department with the results of their tests.

The man taken away was identified by neighbors as Eric Allen Earle, who they said had been arrested less than a month ago for beating Brada. They said that detectives came and took pictures of her injuries, which they said included a bloodied face, a black eye and bruises on her arms.

A booking sheet for Earle showed that he was arrested August 5 and spent a couple of days in jail before posting bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on that case Sept. 6.

Asked about the arrest record of the man taken from the scene, Hernandez said they were taking that into consideration.

“We are looking in to that aspect and conferring with Santa Clarita detectives to see if there is a history of domestic violence and confirm that aspect of it,” he said.
