The CIF Southern Section Division I baseball playoffs get underway this afternoon, and league champion Hart looks primed to make a deep run into the playoffs.  Pitchers Michael Montgomery and Trevor Bauer will lead the Indians as they host Westlake at 3pm.  Second place Valencia will also play a home game in round one, taking on Fountain Valley at 3pm.  Saugus will make the long drive to Norco for their first round matchup.

The Los Angeles Lakers continued to stay perfect at home in the playoffs last night with a solid 111-104 win over the Utah Jazz.  Kobe Bryant scored 26 points, including the first five of the game, to answer any questions about whether or not his back was bothering him.  With the Lakers up 3-2 in the series, game six is scheduled for tomorrow night in Utah at 7:30pm.

The Los Angeles Dodgers finally ended their loosing streak at five games, and thanks to the most surprising source.  Juan Pierre, not known for his power, pounded a go ahead double in the top of the ninth inning, and the Dodgers beat Milwaukee 6-4.  Blake DeWitt added his third career home run for the Dodgers.  The Dodgers and Brewers play the rubber match today, live on KHTS at 9:30am, before Los Angeles comes back home for the first Freeway Series against Anaheim this weekend.
