Foothill League baseball wrapped on Friday, and the final day delivered perhaps the most stunning upset of the year.  As expected, Hart took care of business against West Ranch, 4-0, to secure the outright league championship.  Valencia was playing for a share of league, but Saugus pulled by the Vikings, winning 6-5 and relegating Valencia to second place.  The centurions finished in third place in league.

College of the Canyons baseball had a weekend to forget.  In first round playoff action, the Cougars took care of Cypress 4-0 in game one of a best-of-three series.  But Saturday’s doubleheaders ended the Cougars season early.  Cypress beat COC 11-9 and 9-3 to advance to the second round.

Hart High girl’s swimming collected their first ever CIF-Southern Section Division II Championship on Saturday, defeating Westlake by over 40 points.  Olympic hopeful Jordan Danny was victorious in the 100-yard breaststroke and the Indians 200-yard medley relay team also was victorious.

The Los Angeles Lakers had a bad weekend in Utah, loosing both games and leaving the series tied at two heading back to Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Dodgers were equally as bad, getting swept by Houston, despite a near no-hitter by Hiroki Kuroda on Sunday.  The Dodgers have now lost four straight.  Next up for Joe Torre’s club is a trip to Milwaukee, where the Dodgers and Brewers play game one of the series tomorrow, live on KHTS at 4:30pm.
