With the conclusion of their season last Saturday, and yet another CIF Championship, the Valencia Vikings boy’s volleyball team now can only wait for the final national rankings to be released.  The Vikings were atop the standings for most of the year, and dominating performances in the playoffs should only help their case as they look to earn the school’s second national title in as many years.

The Vikings softball team can also just sit and wait.  The Vikings play undefeated Simi Valley at Deanna Manning Stadium at Bill Barber Park in Irvine on Saturday at 6pm.  The field is a familiar site for Valencia, as the Vikings defeated Hart in the championship game last year at the same stadium.  The Vikings inexplicably are still not ranked in the Super 25 USA Today rankings, however after knocking off 11th ranked Santiago on Tuesday, and win over ninth ranked Simi Valley would almost certainly move the Vikings well up the list.

The Los Angeles Lakers are back at the Staples Center tonight looking to finish off the Spurs in game five of the Western Conference Championship.  The game is scheduled for 6pm.

The Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the Chicago Cubs, blowing a ninth inning lead with two outs.  The Dodgers head to New York for a four game series with the struggling Mets.  You can catch all of the action from game one live on KHTS at 3:30pm.
