Dodgers Acquire All Star Ramirez Print E-mail
Written by Jason Galvin

Dodgers get slugger from Sox in three-team deal.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have finally added a big bat.  Manny Ramirez is coming to Los Angeles via a three-team deal with the Boston Red Sox and Pittsburgh Pirates.  The Red Sox received All-Star Jason Bay from the Pirates, and Pittsburgh received minor leaguers Andy LaRoche and Bryan Morris from Los Angeles, as well as Brandon Moss and Craig Hanson from Boston.

Ramirez is hitting .299 with 20 homeruns and 68 RBI, the latter two stats easily more than the Dodgers current leaders.  Ramirez is a former World Series MVP in 2004, and has appeared in 12 All Star games.  For his career, Ramirez is hitting .313 with 510 home runs and 1,672 runs batted in.
