‘Home’ is the new single from the Goo Goo Dolls’ first album in over four years, ‘Something for the Rest of Us’
The Buffalo-based band — known for their 1995 hit ‘Name’ and 1998’s ‘Iris,’ spent over two years working on ‘Something for the Rest of Us.’ In a YouTube video addressed to their fans, the band explained that they originally thought the upcoming record would be completed earlier in 2010, but then decided that with extra time “we could make it a lot better.”
‘Home’ has a different sound and feel than the bands early hits. It’s obvious that the “extra time” as well as the maturity time brings has, indeed, made the new album something for old fans to look forward to and is sure attract new fans.
