On August 6, 2007, AM-1220 KHTS and Valencia Acura were pleased to welcome back our friends from Carousel Ranch to the KHTS Community Resource Station.
The work that Carousel Ranch does is nothing short of miraculous. This therapeutic equestrian program benefits kids with physical and mental disabilities that range from cerebral palsy, mental retardation, autism, brain injury, stroke, learning disorders, and emotional problems. The benefits to the rider are many. Therapeutic riding has been defined as horseback riding for the disabled. It combines instruction in traditional horsemanship skills with concepts of physical, occupational, recreational, and speech therapy to improve the strength, balance coordination and self-esteem of physically and mentally disabled children and adults. The rider learns to face new challenges that can help them physically and mentally producing favorable improvements in riders of all ages.
Carousel Ranch is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. Nobody is turned away. Fees are based on ability to pay and Carousel Ranch strives to offer scholarship assistance to those in need.
Donations and fundraising events allow Carousel Ranch to continue providing this unique therapy to kids of all ages. Your generosity is appreciated.
