The KHTS Community Resource Station welcomed E.S.C.A.P.E. (Experience Santa Clarita’s Actor’s Performing Ensemble) Theatre on January 11, 2008.
Under the direction of Elizabeth Burson, a cast of more than 210 kids and teens are gearing up for their upcoming production of ‘Oliver’ happening February 1st – 3rd at the Hart High School Auditorium.
We spoke to just a few of the cast members of ‘Oliver’ – many of them have been in previous E.S.C.A.P.E productions. They were featured on the KHTS Non-Profit Spotlight with Janice Murray – heard every Monday and Friday at 10 a.m. on AM-1220 KHTS.
At E.S.C.A.P.E., every student is assured a role in the cast ensemble and has a shot to audition for a lead role. Children learn about being a part of an ensemble where everyone is equally important. Parents are also given the opportunity to train and perform with their kids and often help behind the scene with costumes, sets and more.
E.S.C.A.P.E. gives students the opportunity to develop skills in singing, dancing, and acting, while stimulating intelligence, increasing self-esteem, discipline, creativity, and teamwork in a positive, supportive, and most importantly, fun environment. Each production is unique and entertaining. The cast members work hard to present a top-notch performance.
Tickets are now on sale for “Oliver” to be performed by the students of E.S.C.A.P.E. Performances will be held at the Hart High School Auditorium on February 1 at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. and February 2 & 3 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 – $14.
Tickets are going fast! For reservations, call 299-5264.
