LEAP Ahead With College Of The Canyons

Our annual trip to Sacramento has a new twist this year.  As part of its Professional Development program, College of the Canyons runs LEAP, which stands for Leadership Education in Action Program.

It is designed for employees who are looking to advance their careers and take on positions of greater responsibility.  This semester COC is running an advanced LEAP program with those who have completed the introductory LEAP program.

Advocacy has been one of their key topics, so to augment the group’s discussions and provide an opportunity for experiential learning, KHTS is pleased to have 8 participants from COC’s LEAP program join us in Sacramento.  They won’t all fit on the bus with us, but we’ll see them Monday afternoon in our meetings, and at our dinner at the Fire House.  They have some other activities scheduled with the state Chancellor’s Office, but they will also be at many of our meetings on Tuesday.

It is our privilege to help the college develop the leadership capacity of its staff, and we appreciate their interest in what we are trying to accomplish in Sacramento on behalf of our community.
