Assemblymember Dante Acosta, 38th District
Dante Acosta was elected in 2016 to represent California’s 38th Assembly District. Before joining the Assembly, Dante served as Mayor Pro Tem on the Santa Clarita City Council. In the private sector, he worked as the General Sales manager of a car dealership, and in a number of senior leadership positions in the finance industry as well as volunteering for several worthwhile charities. He attended California State University, Northridge, and the University of Phoenix. Dante is very supportive of both veterans and active duty military. His eldest son, Rudy Acosta (an Army Specialist), was killed in action in Afghanistan. Dante and his wife Carolyn live in Santa Clarita, where they raised their three children.
Senator Scott Wilk, 21st District
A local boy, Scott was born and raised in the 21st Senate District, which he now represents in the California State Senate. The district includes the Antelope, Santa Clarita and Victor valleys. Before being elected to the Senate, Scott represented the 38th Assembly District for four years, where his focus was on job creation. He continues to concentrate on enhancing the life of ordinary Californians by growing California’s economy, improving schools and streamlining government so it works efficiently and effectively. During his first year in the Senate, Wilk authored landmark legislation creating a new water agency in the Santa Clarita Valley. The new agency will transform how water is delivered in the valley, giving voice to the little guy with a strong ratepayer advocate as well as ensuring water delivery is environmentally sustainable. Scott and his wife, Vanessa, reside in Santa Clarita with their two spoiled dogs. They have two adult children, Alison and Scott Jr and Zeke, a precious new grandson (Alison).
