KHTS has been leading road trips to Sacramento since 2006 to advocate for critical issues facing the Santa Clarita Valley. Our trips have made a significant impact over the years and it is our hope to build that same advocacy tradition on this year’s annual Washington DC trip.

KHTS invited a diverse group of individuals representing the Santa Clarita Valley. There will be over 50 community leaders joining us this year, everyone from our Mayor, to school and water board members and business leaders from the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce, Valley Industrial Association and the Santa Clarita Economic Development Corporation.

“Our group is well represented from Santa Clarita. We have key representatives in Education, including College of the Canyons, the William S. Hart School District and SCVi Charter School (also part of the William S. Hart School District), representatives from the City of Santa Clarita, business leaders and Executives and Board members from our leading nonprofits,” said KHTS Co-Owner Carl Goldman. “Democrats and Republicans are part of our group. What makes us unique is we are here on behalf of the key issues impacting our valley and we can all agree on solutions.”

With numerous meetings scheduled for the team to go over other topics concerning water, transportation and health, the team has also been happy to meet a few people that could only help further benefit Santa Clarita.

Eric Eversole from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Speaking To KHTS D.C Trip Members

“We’re looking forward to our meetings with Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, Representatives Devin Nunes and Jeff Denham tomorrow. We have meetings today on health and special funding for our Veterans. Congressman Steve Russell will be our keynote speaker at our dinner tonight,” said Goldman. “Our Congressman Steve Knight and his staff have done an incredible job of arranging meetings and making certain our group gets an inside view of Washington D.C. We are here at a fascinating time with the midterm elections just around the corner.”

KHTS FM 98.1 & AM 1220 also broadcasts during the trip, so we invite you to listen to the interviews as well as the feedback shared by our participants.

Politicians are always seeing groups with their own agenda, labor unions, realtors, chambers, etc. They are blown away by our diversity and our selflessness in taking the time and money to travel on behalf of issues impacting the greater community instead of our own special interests. Our hope is to inspire other community leaders to join us on future trips,” said Goldman.

KHTS’s next trip will be to Sacramento on March 18th and 19th, 2019. Those interested should contact us at:
