Jon Dell was born and raised in Santa Clarita, attending Peachland Elementary, Placerita Jr. High and ValenciaHigh School. In 2004 he graduated from California State University Northridge with a BA in Cinema and Television Arts with an emphasis in Screenwriting.

In high school, he played baseball and was active in various ROP programs. In his senior year, he was nominated for ROP Student of the Year while enrolled in the Entertainment ROP. That same year he served as the host for the ROP Show.

While enrolled at CSUN, Jon took jobs filming bands in and around the Santa Clarita and the San Fernando Valley. This eventually led to his directing and editing of a concert video for Poco, and a charity video featuring Clint Holmes, a top entertainer in Las Vegas.

Looking to move away from film, Jon was hired on at KHTS AM-1220 in September of 2006, where he now holds the title of News Director.

A lover of music and sports, Jon plays in a local adult softball league and is a guitarist in a band. As for his transition into radio, Jon says he enjoys it more!

“KHTS in particular is one those rare places where you can serve a distinct purpose in the community, and I wouldn’t trade that for anything,” he says.

Jon’s news broadcast runs periodically throughout the Hometown Morning show and Shaun Valentine’s Afternoon Drive show. He also writes news articles for the KHTS Newsroom.
