Celebrate New Years With ''Polar Bear Plunge'' Print E-mail
The City of Santa Clarita invites local residents to ring in the New Year at the 1st annual Glacier Slide Polar Bear Swim on Monday, January 1, 2007, at 8:30 a.m., at the Santa Clarita Aquatics Center Waterslide Pool, located at 20850 Centre Pointe Parkway (at Centre Pointe Parkway and Ruether Avenue). Be ready to take the first public polar bear plunge into chilly waters. Doors for the event will open at 8 a.m. and admission is $4 - - towel included. The pool will not be open for recreational swimming.

“The Glacier Slide Polar Bear Swim promises to be an enjoyable experience for the entire family. Come out and join the Santa Clarita Aquatics Center in celebrating the New Year with a new tradition,” commented Mayor Laurene Weste.

Festivities will continue after the polar bear swim by the pool. Here, children and guests can enjoy coffee and donuts, and warm up by the heaters.
