City to Hold Free Parenting Workshop Print E-mail
It is not easy to raise a family today’s society -- especially with blended or step families. Each family encompasses different dynamics and requires different needs. The City of Santa Clarita believes that every family is unique and deserves to be celebrated -- no matter what the situation is. On Thursday, October 19, 2006, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., the City will host Strategies for Success: Building a Successful Blended Family at the City Hall Council Chambers.

“Sometimes we get frustrated, we feel stuck and we need answers when it comes to family matters,” said Veronica Navarro, Community Services Coordinator. “I urge all parents and guardians who want to build a successful blended family to attend this workshop for a positive experience and to gain valuable knowledge of tactics and techniques that cannot be learned at home.”

The workshop, instructed by DeeAnn Joy and Sidney Nicholas, will provide parents and guardians with effective solutions for overcoming challenges, improving communication and encouraging acceptance and respect among family members. Joy and Nicolas own Academic and Life

Success Coaching, a business that offers “World-Class Learning and Success Strategies.”
The workshop is free, but space is limited. Parents or guardians who are ready to make a change and set their families up for success should call (661) 255-4965 to reserve a spot in the workshop.
