Westfield Valencia Town Center A Donation Center For Hurricane Katrina Relief Print E-mail
Friday, 30 September 2005
Westfield Valencia Town Center will continue to serve as a donation site for Santa Clarita residents looking to provide aid to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. On Saturday, October 1 from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Westfield Valencia Town Center and KHTS AM-1220 will host a fundraising drive to help raise much-needed funding for the Hurricane Disaster Fund 2005. To help support Hurricane Katrina Relief, Westfield Valencia Town Center will donate $5,000 to the American Red Cross.

Live entertainment will be provided in Town Square by SCV-Arts and volunteers from the American Red Cross will offer face painting in exchange for a donation.  One of eight relocated families brought to Santa Clarita by a local business coalition will be joined by Mayor Smyth and other city officials including City Councilmember Laurene Weste and Chamber of Commerce President Larry Mankin; Carl Goldman, owner of KHTS AM-1220; representatives from SCV-Arts, Westfield Valencia Town Center management and the Santa Clarita American Red Cross Chapter.

In addition, Westfield Valencia Town Center is a sponsor of this year’s Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night Walk, which supports the thousands of cancer patients who were devastated by Hurricane Katrina.  The center will continue to accept cash or check donations for the American Red Cross at the Shopping Concierge Center, located on the lower level in JC Penny court.

For more information, contact the Shopping Concierge Center at 661-799-9050.
