The City of Santa Clarita in cooperation with the Community Energy Partnership will be hosting a FREE Lamp Exchange on Saturday, June 7th from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Open to City residents, this event allows those who register to trade in their old halogen torchiere floor lamp for an energy efficient fluorescent model. The Lamp Exchange will be held in the Santa Clarita City Hall Parking Lot.

Pre-registration is required for participation and this event is limited to the first 400 individuals who register. By making the switch from a torchiere lamp to a fluorescent model can cut energy usage by 70% and save up to $250.

“The halogen lamps can burn as hot as 1,000 degrees F and are responsible for hundreds of fires. This event is a great opportunity for members of the community to switch out their old halogen lamps for a new, safe, energy efficient fluorescent lamp.” said Travis Lange, the City’s Environmental Services Manager.

Registered participants will have their choice of either a black, white or satin nickel lamp. The energy efficient fluorescent model lamp is valued at $60.

The Lamp Exchange will be taking place in the Parking Lot of Santa Clarita City Hall, which is located at 23920 Valencia Blvd. To pre-register and secure a NEW energy efficient fluorescent torchiere lamp, please call (800) 968-5203 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
