Speed Limit Reduced On State Route 126 Print E-mail
Written by Carol Rock
Thursday, 15 May 2008

Slowing traffic to save lives is Caltrans' goal.

As a first step to improve and enhance public safety -- and as a result of a series of community meetings – the speed limit will be reduced from 60 to 55 MPH on State Route 126 in Fillmore and Santa Paula.

On Thursday, May 15, the new 55 MPH speed limit will take effect between Hallock Drive in Santa Paula to just west of E Street/Levee Drive in  Fillmore, a distance of about 6.7 miles.

An additional safety improvement project to install a center median barrier is in the planning stages.  A concrete median barrier will also help to reduce or eliminate cross-median accidents and fatalities.
