After nearly two weeks of investigation, the Hart District has confirmed that a female counselor at Golden Valley High School who was being investigated for having inappropriate telecommunications with a 16 year old student has resigned from the district.

In a released statement, the Hart District said that they would have no further comment on the matter, which they say is part of an ongoing investigation by the Sheriff’s Department.

To date, no criminal charges have been brought against the woman, who was not identified by the district.

A portion of the prepared statement reads: “The Hart District takes such allegations very seriously and will continue to focus on the protection and safety of students in our schools, while protecting the privacy of any students or employees who may be involved.”

Also, a new investigation into another District staffer has begun. Find out why.
