Deputies set up sting to catch man who tried to grab young girl at bus stop.
A Palmdale man is in custody for attempted kidnapping after detectives arrested him Tuesday during a sting operation. Cesar Galvan, 27, is suspected of assaulting a 15-year-old Canyon Country girl at a bus stop on Soledad Canyon Road near Camp Plenty on April 29.
As the young woman was waiting for the bus, Galvan allegedly approached her, asked her some questions, grabbed her arm and attempted to pull her from the bus stop. The victim resisted, kicking the suspect and fleeing to safety in a nearby business, while Galvan fled the area.
Detectives investigating the incident set up an operation Tuesday afternoon and arrested Galvan when he returned to the scene. He was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley station on suspicion of felony attempted kidnapping and is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
