Officers find more than they bargained for in truck.
A Sonoma County man was stopped Monday morning for speeding by the CHP, but was arrested for a much more serious offense. Aron Michael Parks, 30, was southbound at a high rate of speed in a Dodge Ram pickup truck on the I-5 just north of Smokey Bear Road when he was pulled over. Approaching the vehicle, officers smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the truck. A search of the vehicle yielded four duffle bags containing 34 pounds of marijuana and more than $1,800 in cash and Parks was arrested. Parks was booked at Santa Clarita Sheriff’s station on suspicion of felony possession of marijuana and is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday. |
