On Saturday, the biggest day of competition for disabled athletes will take place at the Special Olympics annual Spirit Games.

The event will take to the stage of Hart Park, Newhall Park, The Boys and Girls Club and Placerita Jr. High.

Over 800 special athletes take part in the games, with an estimated 500 of them being local. The athletes compete in games like aquatics, bocce, basketball, golf and tennis.

This is one of seven different competitions the Special Olympics of Santa Clarita put on every year.
