-In the midst of the Holiday season, there is no better time than now to give the gift of life. Come out to Canyon High School from 10 am until 3 pm for the “Nate Sparks Bone Marrow Drive” Saturday. Sparks is a 17-year-old Canyon high student battling leukemia, and is in need of a bone marrow donor to fight the disease. This event is sponsored by Justin Wilson, and is an Eagle Scout Project. Please contact Justin at  661-754-0593

-Enjoy the spirit of the Holidays- cowboy style! Join The Friends Of Hart Park and Museum for an evening of “Cowboys and Carols.” Held Saturday at Hart Mansion, guests will enjoy refreshments while being serenaded by Curly Musgrave, a guitar-playing western music singer, and will also have the rare opportunity to tour the mansion at night.

-Where can you see over 50 talented kids dancing and singing the sounds of the season? Why, at the Canyon Theatre Guild, of course! Enjoy food, entertainment, raffle prizes, and good ‘ol Holiday cheer Friday night at the 6th annual “Holipalooza!,” a  fundraiser extravaganza that will benefit the new children’s theatre program at the Newhall Elementary School auditorium.

-Bring the children in your life to a weekend of Winter Wonderland Fun, kicking off with Paint the Town’s “Holiday window painting contest,” and followed by the “Holiday Toy Express.” Children are invited to compete by painting the front windows of participating Old Town Newhall Businesses with Holiday-themed artwork. The Toy express is a free live holiday show providing live music while local firefighters collect toys.

-Hanging out in Newhall this weekend?  Take a stroll to Hart Park Saturday for the “Literacy and Arts Festival,” a day of crafts, storytelling, live stage performances, book signings and storybook characters. Put on by the SCV Education Foundation in partnership with the City of Santa Clarita, this event aims to be a day of entertainment, education and activities to promote and encourage literacy and the performing arts to people of all ages.
