Overnight construction will close one direction at a time.
Starting tonight, August 25th Valencia Blvd will begin a two month period of roadway closures.
Each night, one direction of Valencia Blvd will shut down between Bouquet Canyon Rd. and Magic Mountain Parkway from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m in order for the Castaic Lake Water Agency (CLWA) to install an underground pipeline.
Only one direction of the roadway will be closed each night, starting with westbound lanes on Monday.
Detours include:
Westbound
Bouquet Canyon Rd. to Newhall Ranch Rd.
Bouquet Canyon Rd. to Magic Mountain Parkway
Eastbound
Magic Mountain Parkway to Bouquet Canyon Rd.
Newhall Ranch Rd. to Bouquet Canyon Rd.

The pipeline project will provide a way for CLWA to divert contaminated water from the Whittaker-Bermite site and transfer it to a facility to be cleaned. This will allow two underground wells that have been out of operation to come back online.
The project was originally scheduled to begin in early August, however, it was postponed until August 25th by CLWA for unknown reasons.
Valencia Blvd isn’t the only roadway closing for an extend period of time. The I-5 freeway will also be closing down one direction of traffic overnight. Click here to learn more about that.
