Amputees To Find Support

Individuals age 18 and older who have had an amputation (e.g., a limb loss or absence of any part of an extremity, arm or leg, due to surgical or traumatic amputation or congenital disorder) will soon be able to receive resources, information, and support through a newly-formed Amputee Support Group at Henry Mayo NewhallMemorial Hospital  

The group’s first meeting will take place on Thursday, March 1, 2007, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., in the hospital’s ARU Dining Room, located in the Nursing Pavilion at 25727 McBean Parkway, Valencia, CA 91355.

 

Raymond Gritton, MD, ARU Medical Director, and Alissa Myatt, LCSW, Social Services Supervisor, will facilitate the group's quarterly meetings.

 

The Amputee Support Group is associated with HMNMH's Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU), and is also affiliated with the Amputee Coalition of America.
