Lockheed Players of the Week "Canyon Cowboys Defense" December 19, 2006 Print E-mail
Tuesday, 19 December 2006
Congratulations, Defense of Canyon High School for being “Players of the Week”.

With all due respect to JJ DiLuigi, the MVP of the CIF State Football Championship, this week’s Player of the Week is the Cowboys defense.

They held the No. 1 team in the country, a team that averaged 42.5 points per game during the playoffs, to just 13 points.  But perhaps the most important contribution of all was denying that potent offense three times on fourth down conversions, including a stand at the goal line that could have tied the game in the third quarter.

Congratulations, Canyon Cowboys Defense, from Lockheed Federal Credit Union, The Signal, and KHTS AM-1220!

For their performance, Lockheed Federal Credit Union will donate $250 to the Canyon High School booster club.
