In cities around the country, Relay For Life is a community gathering where everyone can participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of people camp out at local parks, schools and fairgrounds. Our local Santa Clarita Valley Relay For Life will take place May 31 and June 1, 2008 at Central Park located on Bouquet Canyon Rd in Santa Clarita.  Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event – because cancer never sleeps. Relays are an overnight event, up to 24 hours in length.

You can give a gift to the American Cancer Society and keep the fire burning with a luminaria in memory of someone lost to cancer, in honor of someone still fighting or to recognize someone who has beaten the disease. When the sun goes down at Central Park, hundreds of luminaria will light the way under the stars. This ceremony of light symbolizes the hope and perseverance with which we all continue to fight.
