LARC Ranch Print E-mail
Monday, 14 July 2008
Sponsored By Providence Holy Cross Health Center
LARC Ranch stopped by the KHTS Resource Station on July 14 and 18, 2008 for the KHTS Non-Profit Spotlight.

The Non-Profit Spotlight – hosted by Janice Murray can be heard each Monday and Friday at 10AM on AM-1220 KHTS and is sponsored by Providence Holy Cross Health Center.

LARC ranch has a come a long way since its inception in 1959. They have a residential program as well as an adult center - which provides a variety of recreational activities for developmentally disabled adults. They also offer programs that prepare participants to enter the workforce. LARC Ranch was evacuated during the recent fires that affected Bouquet Canyon in Fall-2007. They lost their indoor swimming pool to the fire and have plans to build a new outdoor pool.

As a Non-Profit, L.A.R.C. holds fundraising events throughout the year. Money raised helps cover operation costs and funds improvements to the ranch. Their next event will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2008. ‘Elvis Is In The House’ an afternoon of entertainment and great food – featuring Elvis Impersonator Raymond Michael will be held at LARC Ranch. Proceeds will benefit disaster relief, renovation of the pool facility, a new physical therapy room and upgrades to their electrical systems.

LARC is dedicated to helping adults with special needs to thrive by providing a residential program that gives its residents a new sense of purpose and pride.
