Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Print E-mail
Friday, 06 June 2008
Sponsored by Providence Holy Cross Health Center

On June 6, 2008, KHTS and our sponsor, Providence Holy Cross Health Center, welcomed The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to the KHTS Community Resource Station. We featured Campaign Director Kathryn Scott and Kerry Carmody – Providence Holy Cross Administrator on the KHTS Non-Profit Spotlight.

The Non-Profit Spotlight, hosted by Janice Murray , airs each Monday and Friday at 10AM on AM-1220 KHTS and is sponsored by Providence Holy Cross Health Center.

As the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, the Society is committed to providing support and guidance to patients and the health professionals who care for them. Their mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

Nearly 1 million volunteers from all walks of life give generously of their time and talents. They provide professional guidance and help raise vitally needed funds. The Society's activities are directed and supervised by its national and chapter boards of trustees.

Mark your calendar for Sunday, October 19, 2008 for ‘Light the Night’ – taking place at Bridgeport Park. Light The Night Walk is the nation's night to pay tribute and bring hope to people battling cancer.  Each year, teams of friends, families, co-workers and local businesses raise funds for cancer research.  A stunning visual display of hope, walkers carry illuminated balloons - supporters carry red balloons, and cancer survivors carry white.

We want to thank the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for being with us at the KHTS Community Resource Station.
