Santa Clarita Artists' Association Print E-mail
Monday, 03 November 2008
Sponsored By Providence Holy Cross Health Center

On November 3, 2008 we welcomed the Santa Clarita Artists' Association to the KHTS studios and featured Laurie Morgan and Sandy Fisher on the KHTS Non-Profit Spotlight.

The Non-Profit Spotlight - hosted by Janice Murray , airs every Monday and Friday at 10am and is sponsored by Providence Holy Cross Health Center.

The Santa Clarita Artists' Association [non-profit 501(c)(3) was founded in 1989 by a group of local artists who had a desire to share their expertise, knowledge, and enthusiasm for art. The Association has a broad range of talent from professional to novice. Members provide the ability to encourage, assist, develop, and exchange ideas and information in building on artistic skills.  Our mission is to promote art in the Santa Clarita Valley by “Making Visual Art Visible."

They provide scholarships to graduating seniors in the William S. Hart High School district, and assist members with furthering the marketing and business aspects of their artwork. The emphasis is to be a support group devoted to the enrichment of each members experience through the visual arts.

The Artists' Association provides exhibit opportunities, marketing concepts, advertising and exposure by developing an atmosphere of friendship, mutual cooperation, recognition, and appreciation for artists.

On the Third Monday of each month (no meeting in July) the Association hosts a General Membership Meeting.  At these meetings members have the opportunity to watch and learn special techniques during a professional demonstration by a well known artist. The evening concludes with a raffle of the demonstration piece, or a limited edition print from the artist.

We want to thank Laurie Morgan and Sandy Fisher for stopping by to talk about the Artists' Association.
