Sponsored By Valencia Acura

On December 20, 2007 AM-1220 KHTS Welcomed Judy Riley - President of the SCV Scholarship Foundation. We featured this awesome organization on the KHTS Non-Profit Spotlight Show – hosted by Janice Murray and Sponsored by Valencia Acura .

The mission of the Foundation is to reward students for exemplary work and to encourage higher education. It is accomplished through contributions, fundraising and managing funds for scholarship donors. Unique in tradition, the Foundation exists for the benefit and future of the Santa Clarita Valley’s youth. Very few communities in America have there own scholarship foundation.

In 1951, early Mint Canyon homesteaders Walter and Gertrude Baugher in conjunction with Judge C.M. McDougall founded the organization that would become the Santa Clarita Valley Scholarship Foundation. The Foundation was charged with the mission of ensuring that all students were given a chance to achieve their fullest potential. Originally called the William S. Hart District Loan and Scholarship Foundation, it incorporated in 1977 under its present name.
