For the week of December 3, 2007, we welcomed the Sheriff’s Community Wide Toy Drive to the KHTS Community Resource Station.  Sheriff’s Community Relations Deputy Laurie Baylis and her two elves Kayla Paar and Shelby Vogl were featured on the KHTS Non-Profit Spotlight Show – hosted by Janice Murray and Sponsored by Valencia Acura .

Kayla & Shelby are both students at West Ranch High School and are active in community service. Both belonged to the Girl Scouts and making a difference in their community - especially at the holidays is important to them. They were elves last year and are training new elves this year.

The Community Wide Toy Drive is a made possible with the help of the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Department, the generous support of the Power Automotive Group in Valencia and the hard work by Deputy Laurie Baylis as well as the volunteers who work many hours to put the toy store together so that families who are struggling can buy holiday gifts for their children.

College of the Canyons has donated the use of their cafeteria - which will serve as the community toy store on December 15 & 16, 2007.

We want to thank Deputy Baylis, Kayla Parr and Shelby Vogl for stopping by to talk about the Toy Drive.
