Activists Fight Newhall Ranch Ruling Print E-mail
A local environmental group is taking The Newhall Land and Farming Co. back to court...

The Santa Clarita Organization for Planning the Environment filed an appeal in Kern County Superior Court, challenging Judge Roger D. Randall’s Oct. 22 ruling that upheld the adequacy of the environmental documents for the Newhall Ranch Specific Plan.
Newhall Ranch is planned as a 20,885-home community west of Interstate 5 in the Santa Clarita Valley.
It is the largest single development project approved in the history of Los Angeles County.
Both parties are still waiting on word for the appellate court’s briefing schedule.
