At the Board of Supervisors meeting on November 14, 2006, Mayor Michael D. Antonovich presented a congratulatory scroll to Dr. John De Lemos in honor of his selection as one the top sixteen Los Angeles County Teachers of the Year for 2006-2007.

Dr. de Lemos is an eighth grade science instructor at Castaic Middle School with over seventeen years of teaching experience.
