Apartment Manager Says His Intentions Were Good

The manager of a senior apartment complex who pleaded no contest to embezzling $80,000 from an elderly resident said Friday his intentions were not sinister and that he dearly loved the tenant.  
    John McBride, 63, the manager of Whispering Oaks Senior Apartments in Newhall, accepted a plea bargain last month and was ordered to pay $50,000 in restitution. He has also been placed on five years’ probation.
