Caltrans To Shut Down Sections of Freeway In and Out of SCV

LANE CLOSURES FOR GOLDEN STATE FREEWAY (I-5)
CARPOOL LANE CONSTRUCTION

Sylmar/North San Fernando Valley The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the following lanes of the north- and southbound I-5, from State Route 118 to State Route 14, as part of a $41.6-million project to construct High Occupancy Vehicle, (HOV), or carpool lanes. The schedule is as follows:

DAILY, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 15 AND THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 16

Northbound I-5:
·        5 a.m. to 2 p.m. – One lane from I-210 connector to the SR-14 connector.
·        6 a.m. to 3 p.m. – One lane from SR-118 connector to Chatsworth Avenue.
·        8 a.m. to 2 p.m. – One lane from I-405 to the connector on-ramp at I-210.
·        9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – North- and southbound Brand Avenue off-ramps.
·        9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – San Fernando Mission Boulevard off-ramp.
·        9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Paxton Street and Laurel Canyon Boulevard on-ramps.
·        9 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Up to two lanes from SR-118 connector to I-405.  
·        9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – connector at Westbound I-210.
·        9 a.m. to 2 p.m. –  connector at Westbound SR-118.
·        10 a.m.to 3 p.m. -connector from San Fernando Mission Boulevard to Roxford St.

Southbound I-5:
·        9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – connector to eastbound SR-118.
·        9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Two lanes from Chatsworth Avenue to eastbound SR-118.
·        9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – San Fernando Mission Boulevard, Brand Avenue and Chatsworth Avenue on-ramps.
·        9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – connector at the I-405 truck bypass.

               
NIGHTLY, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 15 AND THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 16:

Northbound I-5:
·        7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Laurel Canyon Boulevard, San Fernando Mission Boulevard and  Paxton Avenue on-ramps.
·        7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Chatsworth Drive/Brand Avenue off-ramp.  
·        8 p.m. to 9 a.m. – Two lanes from Paxton Avenue to San Fernando Mission Blvd.
·        8 p.m. to 8 a.m. – Up to two lanes from I-405 to the off-ramp at Roxford Street.
·        8 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Up to two lanes from Roxford Street to eastbound I-210.
·        8 p.m. to 8 a.m. – Up to three lanes from Balboa Boulevard to SR-14.
·        9 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Up to two lanes from San Fernando Mission Boulevard to the   I-405 junction.
·        10 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Up to two lanes from eastbound I-210 to Balboa Boulevard.
·        10 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Up to three lanes from Roxford Street to Balboa Boulevard.
·        11 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Up to two lanes from the Golden State truck bypass to SR-14.

Southbound I-5:
·        8 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Up to two lanes from the I-405 junction to San Fernando Mission Boulevard.
·        10 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Up to two lanes from Weldon Canyon to southbound SR-14.
·        6 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Two lanes from the SR-14 connector at to Balboa Boulevard.
·        7 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Up to two lanes from Balboa Boulevard to Roxford Avenue.
·        6 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Up to two lanes and one auxiliary lane from San Fernando Mission Boulevard to the SR-118 connector.
·        7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – San Fernando Mission Boulevard off-ramp.
·        7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – East-and westbound San Fernando Mission on-ramps.
·        7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Brand Avenue and Chatsworth Drive on-ramps.
·        6 p.m. to 7 a.m. – Paxton Avenue off-ramp.
·        8 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Up to three lanes from SR-14 to Roxford Street.
·        6 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Up to two lanes from Chatsworth Avenue to SR-118.
·        7 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Up to two lanes from Roxford Avenue to the I-405 junction.
·        7 p.m. to 6
a.m. – connector lanes to eastbound SR-118.

·        7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – connector lane to the I-405 truck bypass.
·        9 a.m. to 6 a.m. – One collector lane from SR-14 truck route to Balboa Boulevard will be closed nearly around the clock.  
·        6 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Westbound SR-118 collector lane.
