City Unveils New Hometown Trolley

On the evening of November 7th at the City Council’s monthly study session on the public transportation system, the Santa Clarita City Council members took delivery of the latest addition to the City’s Transit fleet, the Hometown Trolley.

“The Hometown Trolley is a great addition to our community.  It fits in well with our improvements to the City’s transit program and we are pleased to be able to introduce the new trolley in time for the holiday season,” said Ken Pulskamp, City Manager.

Initial trolley service will be introduced, free of charge, in both the Valencia Town Center and Valencia Industrial areas.  A formal route for the trolley, transportation times and schedules will be announced within the next week.

In addition, the trolley will be used for special community events such as the area parades, holiday light tours, and a host of other special and community events.

KHTS AM 1220 will provide the holiday soundtrack for the trolley, along with greetings from prominent city officials.

“This is a great and fun way to highlight the importance of public transportation within our community and we hope the community will enjoy it,” City Transit Manager, Jeffery J. O’Keefe.
