The City of Santa Clarita is proud to announce the return of the popular Old Town Newhall Farmers’ Market on Thursday April 6, 2006 beginning at 4:00 pm. The Farmers’ Market, which features fresh organic produce and flowers, fantastic homemade prepared foods, and handmade craft items, will run every Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at 23922 San Fernando Road in Old Town Newhall throughout the spring and summer. The market is conveniently located just off Lyons Avenue, between Fifth and Sixth Streets. Part of the Downtown Newhall Revitalization efforts, the Farmers’ Market drew in thousands of visitors last season. Weekly performances by local musicians and artists entertained shoppers while they browsed through fresh vegetables, fruits, and flowers, and as they waited for hot, fresh tamales. This year’s Farmers’ Market promises more of the same quality products. “The Old Town Newhall Farmers’ Market was tremendously successful last year,” said Andree Walper, Economic Development Assistant for the City. “We are excited for the return of the colorful produce and the great handmade crafts. The Farmers’ Market is the perfect way to spend a Thursday evening.”
