County Grants to Help DNA Lab

Supervisors unanimously approved two grants totaling about $835,000 on Tuesday that will help the sheriff’s department expedite the processing of DNA cases for investigations & reduce its backlog. The crime lab of the L. A. County Sheriff’s Department, officially known as the Scientific Services Bureau, handles its DNA casework, mapping out the DNA of bodily fluids left at crime scenes.  The entire story’s featured in Wednesday’s Signal.
