Cowboy Festival Dates Announced Print E-mail

The following letter was released by the city today:

Greetings from Santa Clarita!

Mark your calendars Ladies and Gentlemen.

It took some time but we were finally able to work things out with Melody Ranch and Roscoe Productions and are happy to say that the 14th annual Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival is once again coming to Melody Ranch (tm) Motion Picture Studio and other venues April 25-29, 2007. Special thanks to the Veluzat family for welcoming us to their spectacular venue.

As always, the Cowboy Festival will feature the best in Western gear, food and clothing as well as outstanding poets and musicians like Baxter Black, Don Edwards, The Sons of the San Joaquin, Cowboy Celtic, Wiley and the Wild West, Sourdough Slim, Dave Stamey, Jon Chandler, Paul Zarzyski and many more. Back by popular demand are Ginny Mac, Juni Fisher and poets Chris Isaacs and Doris Daley. Whit Smith, formerly of Hot Club of Cowtown, will be bringing a brand new trio, String Devils, to our event and we're pleased to announce that master horseman and trick roper, Benny Martinez, will be returning to amaze audiences with his equestrian magic.

And that's not all! Our Festival poster this year will be released soon and will feature the artwork of premier Western watercolorist, William Matthews.

Tickets are scheduled to go on sale Monday, January 8, 2007. We look forward to seeing you in 2007!
