Festival of Trees Captures Spirit of Holidays

In what has become a much loved Santa Clarita tradition, the Festival of Trees is set to open today.

The three day festival brings businesses and organizations together, to create holiday themed trees and settings, which can be viewed and even purchased by patrons. Admission is $3 for children and seniors, $5 for adults and all proceeds from ticket prices and tree sales go to benefit the boys and girls club.

There will also be much more going on at festival of trees, including a teddy bear parade and arts and crafts for children.

But the sights alone are well worth the price of admission. The trees and settings are gorgeous, but it’s the intricacy and attention to detail that really makes the trees shine. Keep in mind, all trees will carry not only a holiday theme, but also one that represents their organization, so keep an eye out for the small things.

Trees you can’t miss: KHTS (just for its size alone), Six Flags Magic Mountain, Loose Goose Wine Festival and The Sanctuary Resort.

The Sanctuary Resort is a Costa Rican Resort and they, very cleverly managed to bring the beach to the holidays. “The colors in Costa Rica are so vibrant, and we wanted to bring that and incorporate it into our Christmas setting,” said a company spokeswoman.

Above and below you will see some pictures I took on Thursday, before the festival opened. The venue and displays have not yet been completed, but it should give you an idea.

Festival of Trees is open Friday, from 10am to 9pm, Saturday from 10am to 3pm and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
