Food Pantry Gets Window Shot Out

Sometime either Saturday night or Sunday morning, the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry had its windows shot out by a pellet gun.

This is the second reporting of such an incident in the downtown Newhall area in a week’s time, and Sheriff’s Deputies are hoping to catch the perpetrator soon.

This is the busiest time of the year for the Food Pantry, and in a season where giving is their greatest achievement, they now have to deal with what a single pellet took away.

The estimated cost to replace the window, which is a large exterior piece of glass, is $1,000.

If you would like to help with the cost of replacing the window, or would like to donate food for those less fortunate, please contact the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry at 255-9078, or on the web by clicking here.
