On November 17, a free drive thru flu shot clinic will be available to the public from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the College of the Canyon Parking lots 7 & 8. College of the Canyons is located at 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road . This drive thru flu clinic is being held in cooperation with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, the City of Santa Clarita , College of the Canyons, and the Los Angeles County Sheriff.
As part of the collaborative clinic, students from College of the Canyon’s School of Nursing will be administering the flu shots, along with public health nurses. City staff and emergency volunteers will also be supporting the clinic operations.
The flu shot is free to all and recommended for children 6 months and older, pregnant women, childcare providers, care givers, first responders, all seniors, and anyone with a chronic illness. The flu shot is not recommended for anyone with allergies/sensitivities to eggs.
“We are very excited to be part of this program that will provide our residents with an easy way to obtain a free flu shot, right here in our community,” commented Mayor Laurene Weste.
