The third such incident in a week causes officials to evacuate the campus as a precautionary measure
The third in a series of bomb threats in the last seven days turned Hart High School into an eerily deserted landscape just after noon Friday, as students, faculty and staff were evacuated as a precautionary measure.
As of late afternoon, however, the threat remained exactly that. Investigators found no bomb on campus.
On Oct. 23, a bomb scare halted the final “Big River” production at the College of the Canyons performing arts center. The threat turned out to be a hoax.
And Thursday, a bomb threat at Canyon High School turned out to be bogus, as sheriff’s deputies scoured the campus during the morning hours. A sergeant at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station said the caller may have called from one of the campus payphones.
