Injured Boy Rescued By Helicopter

A 12-year-old boy with a broken leg, stuck halfway up a menacing hillside in Castaic, was rescued by paramedics in a dramatic nighttime save Saturday evening…

A county helicopter hovered over the scene for long minutes as paramedics descended on a swaying line to get to the boy, whose name was not available from emergency personnel at the scene.
    The paramedics secured the young victim for transport as a floodlight from the helicopter illuminated the hillside, and then pulled him up in a basket. In swift order, the victim was airlifted to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital.
    An emergency room spokesman at the hospital confirmed that the boy was there and was being examined, but would not reveal his name or precise condition…
