Friday morning at 8:30am, 15 people will enter the Santa Clarita Activities center in Canyon Country and face down 3 panels of community members for the job of City Councilman.
With Cameron Smyth vacating his seat, this public process of appointment will begin with this round of interviews. During the interviews, the candidates will go from room to room; 3 total, and field a round of questions.
After the applicant has been seen by each panel, the public will have an opportunity to speak to the panels regarding applicants.
Whether or not the public will try to persuade the panel members towards or away from, any particular candidate will be seen at this time.
After public participation, the panel members will assign a blind ranking to the applicants. Those rankings will be made available to the public.
The top ranking few will go on to interview with the City Council on Wednesday, December 6th.
