“We’re thrilled with our partnership with KIBS-FM and KBOV-AM. It’s a natural,” said Carl Goldman, co-owner of KHTS AM-1220. “Lone Pine has so much to offer our Santa Clarita residents: beautiful hiking trails for easy hikes or tackling the highest mountain in the continental United States, Mt. Whitney.

“And of course, their western film history is parallel to our valley’s western film history. They’ve done a great job preserving it in their Lone Pine Film History Museum. We look forward to promoting Lone Pine as a fun destination for Santa Clarita travelers.”

From hiking and biking, camping, bird watching and fishing to golfing, hang gliding, horseback riding and more, Lone Pine has an activity for every family member.

“KIBS has always been a big part of the eastern Sierra and west central Nevada, and we’re very excited to partner up with KHTS in order to help make Lone Pine a more sought out, all-season destination rather than just passing through on your way to Mammoth Mountain,” said KIBS and KBOV owners Steve Miller and Lauren Brandt.

Just south of Lone Pine on the east side of the Sierra, the Interagency Visitor Center offers the best possible view of Mt. Whitney, the tallest mountain of the “lower 48” states.

Travelers can stop by the Lone Pine Film History Museum to view an extensive collection of real movie costumes, cars, props, posters and other memorabilia used during filming in and around Lone Pine, from the early days of “Round Up” to modern blockbusters like “Iron Man.”

A download of the Movie Road Self-Guided Tour booklet is also available on the website, which gives travelers the chance to get a first-hand look at real shooting locations of many motion pictures filmed in the Alabama Hills of Lone Pine.

In addition to telling travelers everything they need to know about experiencing Lone Pine’s film history and Mt. Whitney, MyLonePine.com also offers a calendar of fun, family-friendly events and dining information so travelers can incorporate them into their plans.

MyLonePine.com is a valuable new resource for Santa Clarita travelers to learn everything they need to know about planning their trip to Lone Pine.
