More I-5 Lane Closures Planned For Next Few Days

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the following lanes of the north- and southbound I-5, as part of a $41.6-million project to construct High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV), or carpool lanes, from State Route 118 to State Route 14. The schedule is as follows:

Daily, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, November 28, 29, 30.

 

Westbound I-210:

  • 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. – One connector lane to northbound I-5.
 

Westbound SR-118:

·        9 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Two connector lanes to northbound I-5.

 

Northbound I-5:

  • 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Up to two lanes from the I-210 connector to SR-14.
  • 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Up to two lanes from the SR-118 connector to I-405.
  • 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. – One lane from I-405 to eastbound I-210 connector.
  • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Brand Boulevard off-ramp.
  • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Paxton Street and Laurel Canyon Boulevard on-ramps.
  • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – San Fernando Mission Boulevard off-ramp.
  • 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Connector from San Fernando Mission Boulevard to Roxford Street.
 

Southbound I-5:

  • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Connector to eastbound SR-118.
  • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Connector to I-405 truck bypass.
  • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Chatsworth Drive and Brand Boulevard on-ramps.
  • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – San Fernando Mission Boulevard off-ramp.
  • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – east- and westbound San Fernando Mission Boulevard on-ramps.
  • 9 a.m. to 6 a.m. – Collector lane from the I-14 truck route to Balboa Boulevard.
  • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Up to two lanes from Chatsworth Drive to eastbound SR-118.
 

Evenings, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, November 28, 29, 30.

 

Northbound I-5:

  • 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Collector lane from San Fernando Mission Boulevard to Roxford Avenue.
  • 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. – Up to three lanes from I-405 to the Roxford Street off-ramp.
  • 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Up to three lanes from the Roxford Street on-ramp to eastbound I-210 on-ramp.
  • 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Laurel Canyon Boulevard and San Fernando Mission Boulevard on-ramps.
  • 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Up to two lanes from San Fernando Mission Boulevard to I-405 junction.
  • 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. – Up to two lanes from Paxton Street to San Fernando Mission Boulevard.
  • 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Paxton Street on-ramp.

·        7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Chatsworth Drive/Brand Avenue off-ramp.

·        10 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Up to two lanes from the eastbound I-210 to SR-14.

·        11 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Up to two lanes from SR-14 to the Golden State truck bypass.

 

Southbound I-5:

  • 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Up to two lanes from I-405 to San Fernando Mission Boulevard.
  • 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Up to two lanes from Weldon Canyon to southbound SR-14.
  • 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Up to two lanes from southbound SR-14 connector to Balboa Boulevard. 
  • 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Up to two lanes from Balboa Boulevard to the truck bypass.

·        7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – One lane from Chatsworth Drive/Brand Avenue to SR-118.

·        7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Connector to the I-405 truck bypass.

·        7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – San Fernando Mission Boulevard off-ramp.

·        7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – East- and westbound San Fernando Mission Boulevard on-ramps.

·        7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Chatsworth Drive/Brand Avenue on-ramps.

·        6 p.m. to 7 a.m. – Paxton Street off-ramp.

·        7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Connector to eastbound SR-118.

·        8 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Three lanes from SR-14 to the Roxford Street on-ramp.

·        6 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Up to two lanes from Chatsworth Drive to SR-118.

·        7 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Up to two lanes from Roxford Street to the I-405 junction. 

 
Signs and detours will be posted to assist motorists.
