Officials Looking Into Safety of Train Tracks

Fencing ends near area where couple were killed last week…

Metrolink officials said that if there is a reason why people are tempted to cross the railroad tracks, where two teens were killed by a Metrolink train in Newhall last week, something must be done to prevent further tragedy. Within 50 feet of a bus stop is the scene where Sandra Fabiola Quijada Garcia, 16, of Santa Clarita and Fernando Nava Munoz, 19, of Palmdale were struck and apparently accidentally killed by a Metrolink train at a point where fencing ends along the train tracks.
