More than 200 parents, guardians, and educators spent Saturday morning at the Hyatt Valencia attending the City of Santa Clarita’s annual Parent U conference. . .

    The conference featured eight workshops and one main session all under the theme of "Building Blocks for Strong and Healthy Families."

"It’s mainly for parents, guardians, care givers and anyone who wants to gain more knowledge when it comes to parenting," said Veronica Navarro, community services youth and family coordinator for the city.  "We provide a lot of resources."

Designed with practicality in mind, the workshops included such topics as managing media in your home, how to help your child succeed in school and in life, and got health? your family’s health matters.
