The City of Santa Clarita Transit’s Commuter Ambassadors celebrated a decade of service to the City and to the Santa Clarita Transit system this past Saturday.
“Thanks to the dedication and years of service for many long-time ambassadors, the Santa Clarita Transit commuter service continues to improve communication between commuters and City staff each year,” commented Jeff O’Keef, Transit City manager. “We appreciate the time and effort these men and women have given to our City.”
The Commuter Ambassador program was founded in 1996 to give Santa Clarita commuters an opportunity to meet monthly with City transit and bus contractor management staff to address commuter concerns and improve the transit system.
“I have seen many changes over the years and have enjoyed meeting new people and acting as a liaison between fellow commuters and the City,” said Cheryl Grotefend, City ambassador. “I have a new appreciation for our public transportation system and the challenges it faces everyday.”
